How to calculate cash runway
Assumes constant monthly net burn. When inflow covers outflow, there is no finite runway under these assumptions.
A worked example
With cash available of 60,000, monthly cash outflow of 15,000, monthly cash inflow of 5,000, cash runway is 6 months. Change the example above to match your situation.
Enter amounts in the same currency and time period. Results display up to two decimal places; calculations use unrounded values. These estimates are for planning and education.
Common questions
Which cash flows should I enter?
Use cash actually expected to move in and out each month. Enter both on a consistent basis, including the expenses and inflows relevant to the balance you are planning.
Why might the result say no finite runway?
When inflow covers outflow, cash is not being depleted under the constant-flow assumptions. This does not account for future changes, one-off bills or payment timing.
